The Blue Boar Inn is hands down the BEST bed and breakfast in Utah. I have been to a small handful of bed and breakfasts (including the Anniversary Inn, a close rival), but the Blue Boar Inn really takes the cake. It is a charming piece of Europe nestled into the hillside of Midway, Utah (which is home to many fun and unique hotels and bed and breakfasts, including Homestead, Johnson Mill and Zermatt). My husband and I went to the Blue Boar Inn last winter- we stayed in the Charles Dickens room (another aspect I adore about the Blue Boar Inn- they name their rooms after history's great writers- William Shakespeare, Emily Dickinson, Jane Austen, Robert Frost, and Ralph Waldo Emerson, to name a few). Every room has unique and gorgeous furniture and decor.
We also had dinner at the Inn's restaurant that evening- it was phenomenal. The Blue Boar Inn & Restaurant has a four diamond rating and the highest possible Zagat rating of 26. When we were there, I remember marveling at the ornate fireplace in the waiting area, and looking at all of the Best of State medals draped all over this boar's head mounted on the fireplace. This restaurant has received Best of State Medals for Top Dining Establishment, Best Chef, Best European Dining, and Best Brunch. Oh, their brunch. Their brunch is very good. The best breakfast food I have ever eaten away from home. Maybe even better than home- it's included with your night's stay- you can order from a menu (belgian waffles, omelettes, etc.), or you can pick and choose from their buffet line of a wide array of cheese, meats, and pastries.
After regretfully leaving the inn, we drove five minutes away to the Homestead Crater, where we floated, swam and just relaxed in the naturally heated spring water. There is usually a diving group or two, since this is the only warm water diving destination in the entire United States, but there is still plenty of room for you to float around and soak up some nice minerals. The Crater is 55 feet tall and beehive shaped, with a hollowed out center filled with water that is a cozy 90-96 degrees farenheit. Due to the deep water, you have to wear a life vest at all times. There is a small hole in the top of the crater which allows in plenty fresh air and light. It's a fun experience, located right in Utah's backyard! Try it- you won't be disappointed.

I love Midway!!! My Grandma lives there. I have never been to the Blue Boar Inn, we will have to check it out sometime!
You just gave me the best getaway idea. I had totally forgotten my excitement to stay there in the Jane Austen room at one time. Jenn, I love all your adventures. I want to be like you when I grow up. :)
someday stui will take me there...
I don't know how to download the costco pics on to my computer so the small pics is the best I could do, I was pretty bummed.
