Artichokes & Company

Here's a shout out to a local boutique called Artichokes & Company (A&C). Some representatives from A&C stopped by my office today to discuss gift opportunities for clients (I work in marketing, so we are always looking for new ideas for this very thing). I actually got to meet the owner of the store- she is very passionate about her business, and she loves the merchandise her store offers. (I always like meeting the owners of businesses- it's interesting to learn about their passions and how their companies have come to where they are today).

In case you haven't heard of this store, Artichokes & Company (which showed up on the SLC scene in 1997) offers unique and impressive gift baskets- if you visit their store (in the Sugarhouse area in Salt Lake City), there are tons of food, spa, and home decor items you can buy individually or put into gift baskets. To stand out among the other gift basket companies out there, A&C offers truly unique merchandise, which is then packed into wooden crates instead of baskets. You can even get your brand and/or name burned into the side of the wooden crate (for a one time price, and the burn piece is then yours to use for any and all future crates from A&C).

Another aspect that I really like about A&C is their flower arrangements- they recently won Best of State for this very thing (which is what the representative told me this morning at our meeting). They pack the flowers in gorgeous arrangements in their little signature crates (and for those traditionalists out there- they will arrange flowers in regular glass vases as well); I've even seen arrangements with baby artichokes (SO cute)!

I've stopped by the local store a number of times (by the way, anyone who wants to go boutique hopping in Salt Lake City, let me know! I have a list of fun, little shops that I love to stop by every once in a while), and it is always impressively stocked with unique and fun gifts, covering everything from baby, to flowers, to home decor, to food.

I always thought that place sounded like a restaurant, like a fun restaurant I'd like to go to.

Oh I love love love this store! I bought the topiaries for my wedding there and they are still alive and totally amazing in my yard! You should totally work with them if you can!
