Just in case you were wondering where you were going to go out to eat this weekend, I have a new place for you to try- Citris Grill- Your Neighborhood Squeeze (http://citrisgrill.com/). Citris Grill is located at 2991 East 3300 South in Salt Lake City. Here's what my husband and I ate:
For appetizers (called "Tidbits" on the menu)- Pepper Crusted Risotto Cakes with goat cheese and tomato fondue, and Cornmeal Chili Rock Shrimp and Calamari with chive mustard and tropical fruit aioli. The risotto cakes were crispy on the outside, and smooth on the inside, and the goat cheese and tomato fondue provided an excellent realm of flavors. The shrimp and calamari was also really good- there were two different sauces to dip them in, and the crispy cornmeal coating was a nice change from your run-of-the-mill shrimp dish.
For the main dish, my husband got the Sourdough Turkey Melt, with russian dressing, coleslaw and swiss cheese. I was a little adverse to this one, having never tried russian dressing before, but it was actually really good. I had the Wood Fired Chicken Breast with artichoke hearts, fresh tomatoes and citris glaze. I love artichokes, and the three flavors complimented each other really well. Needless to say, we had plenty of leftovers.
What is different about his place is that they serve their food in "Hearty" and "Petite" portions- there's no one-size-fits-all plate. Which is nice when you want to order a meal to serve two people, or to share with a crowd. Not to mention the food, which is DELICIOUS (and relatively inexpensive)! I hope you give this popular, little restaurant a try... I don't think you will be disappointed.
