Beautiful Park and an Upcoming 5K...

My husband and I went for the BEST walk yesterday through the Avenues in Salt Lake City. The highlight was definitely Memorial Grove right below City Creek Canyon and the Capitol Building. This place is a mecca for all dog owners, walkers, and runners. It's fun to run through the canyon and then down through Memorial Grove, but today we walked down the switchback trail that you can find on either side of the park, and we dog-watched for a little bit. There were at least 10-15 dogs running around, fetching balls in the pond, catching frisbees, or otherwise playing with their owners. It was a fun, relaxing time.

On a completely unrelated note, there's a cool 5K coming up in May- it's called the Running with Angels 5K (inspired by the book the 5K was named after), and it's at Thanksgiving Point. I looked at some of the pictures on the event website, and people were running on soft grass (through the gardens)- it doesn't get any better than that! It's Saturday, May 16 at 8 a.m.
