I was walking down the hall at work today, rushing from one project to the next, when all of a sudden, around the corner walks my cute husband! I felt a huge sense of relief, and I couldn't help but smile and give him a big hug. I love my husband. It's been a stressful couple of weeks (which is one of the excuses I have for not posting lately), and it was nice to have an unexpected surprise. Actually, he came to bring some pictures I wanted to see (which is what I asked him to to do this morning anyways, but hey, I totally forgot, so it was LIKE a surprise)- pictures turned out fine, by the way.
Anyways, it was around lunch time, so we took the opportunity to walk down to one of my favorite sandwich places, The Robin's Nest. I went there on one of my first days at work with some kind co-workers who wanted to take me under their wing (no pun intended), talk to me about the office, and show me some GOOD places to eat! I love The Robin's Nest. It has a hip atmosphere, fun decor, and did I mention really great food? To be honest, I've only had one sandwich at The Robin's Nest- I get it every time I go- it's called "The Gobbler." It consists of "roasted turkey breast, lettuce, mayo, cranberry spread, melted provolone, and avocado on ciabatta bread." Mmmm. Today I got half of The Gobbler, and then a side salad of the "Nutty Flora" salad, which consists of "spring greens, red grapes, red onions (OMIT), smoked gouda (OMIT), candied walnuts, and cherry vinaigrette." Very good.
My hubby got "The Roobin," which consists of "pastrami, dijon mustard, sauerkraut, dill pickle, thousand island dressing, swiss cheese, all on marble rye bread." Hmm. We have very different tastes. He did say it was good, though. The Robin's Nest includes a serving of orzo pasta (which is very yummy) or house-made potato chips with every sandwich. We went around 1:30/2 p.m., which is a good time to go, since there is little or no wait, and most of the lunch crowd (mostly businesspeople) is gone. There are many different types of sandwiches, treats, and drinks to suit anybody's specific tastes. The Robin's Nest is located on 311 South Main Street. I highly suggest that you check it out!
