Jon Schmidt Christmas Concert

I went to Jon Schmidt's Christmas Concert last Saturday. This traditional event was held at the Kingsbury Hall. It's a good show- I've gone for the past 5 years or so. In case you didn't know, Jon Schmidt is an extremely gifted piano player, probably the most well known in Idaho, Utah, and Arizona. He popularity continues to grow as word spreads about his masterful and silly playing antics, such as sitting on the piano bench on his back and playing the piano with his hands crossed, doing back flips on the stage with fireworks going off, and his wonderful piano arrangements. The guy has to have the hands of a gorilla to be able to play the chords and arpeggios he does, I swear. It's incredible.

Jon Schmidt does this concert every year- and it sometimes SEEMS like it's the same concert every year- same jokes (for the most part), same songs, same antics, etc. It's fun to see, and if you haven't been to a Jon Schmidt concert, I highly suggest you go- it's very entertaining- but for me, I think my Jon Schmidt obsession era is coming to a close. I like listening to his music, and I definitely have my favorites. But next year, I'll probably go see The Nutcracker, or some other Christmas concert. Don't get me wrong, it's an excellent show- but it gets old when it's done the same way over and over and over and over and over again. All the same, I really enjoyed the show, and I will continue to listen to Jon Schmidt Christmas music throughout the season!

Are there any shows that you have attended during Christmas time that you think are really good and would recommend to anybody else?
