My husband and I met up with another couple and went to Oasis Cafe last Friday evening. I first tried Oasis Cafe back in March, and I really enjoyed the experience- I was excited to go back! The food is incredible, and the presentation is always unique. I ordered a beef medallion entree, and it was served on a long, skinny, white rectangular plate- there were three beef medallions lined up in a row resting on three individual beds of garlic mashed potatoes, with three to four small asparagus laid across each medallion. Plus there were brightly colored sauces beneath the mashed potatoes- it tasted amazing! I also had a salad, and the four of us shared the vanilla creme brulee for dessert. My husband and I determined that this was the BEST creme brulee we have ever had at a restaurant. It had the perfect blend of a crispy, sugary top, and a creamy and tasty center.
Oasis Cafe has kind of a hippy/organic/vegetarian vibe, and is located at 151 South 500 East in Salt Lake City. It's right next to an interesting bookstore called Golden Braid Books, which has everything to meet your hippy needs- it's entertaining to explore and see just what interesting things people feel compelled to buy. Whether you need crystals with healing energy, books that decipher your dreams, or just the right bamboo plant, this store's for you!
