Update for Garden

So, we've decided to grow a garden... or, at least, attempt to grow one...
These are our zucchini and jalapeno plants...
Here are our stripe-y tomato and green pepper plants..
You can't see it all very well- but there's a cucumber plant, yellow squash plant, red pepper plant, and a cantaloupe plant...
A mini-green pepper is already starting to grow!!
My friend, Nicole, sent me flower bulbs for my b-day; I planted them, and they are just starting to grow! It's very exciting. I was worried I would kill all of these plants. Or that something else would kill the plants- weather, bugs, rodents- but they seem to be doing well so far.
That is, everything but our basil plant. This is on a table on our back porch. This was growing great, but there was something eating the leaves like crazy- we came out one night, and found around 5 slugs on the leaves. GROSS! I looked online and saw that you can kill slugs with salt, and that if you put sandpaper under/around the pot, the slugs won't be able to reach the plant, because they "don't like the gritty-ness of the sandpaper." Whatever, I'll try it. So far, so good. I am amazed that these stupid, tiny slugs can get up on the table to attack my plant- I know the basil smells really good, but seriously??? Anyways, it looks like our basil plant is slowly but surely starting to revive itself. I have also sprayed all of my plants with fruit and vegetable plant bug spray. We'll see what else happens.
We also have a hanging tomato plant- this thing is thriving! There are tons of yellow flowers all over this little guy. I'm so excited to see this stuff grow.
See!! Even a little tomato is starting to grow already!

I also planted some green beans about a week and a half ago- these little guys started popping up in just the last couple of days! So cool
Here are my six rows of veggies- 3 of green beans, and 3 of rainbow swiss chard.
Here's looking at the other side of the garden at all of my plants. We also have a watermelon plant growing in the upper left hand corner of the picture. I don't know if we'll be successful, but we're off to a good start! We've really enjoyed this gardening thing so far...

Your garden looks awesome! You will have to share all of your tips with me. I found out that our complex has little garden plots in the back. I think I am just going to do cherry tomatoes, zucchini and basil...we'll see if anything turns out!
