I hope ya'll like pictures, because I need to catch up from the last two months of no posts...
We went and toured a submarine recently. Can you say claustrophobia? There were so many dials and switches, and the living and working spaces were TINY- a submariner's life is NOT for me!
Getting through each doorway was a chore- there were at least 4 of these on the submarine!
We made an east coast road trip up to NYC to visit my husband's brother and sister in law... and their cute, new baby girl! It was a lot of fun- we're glad we made the trip. We've done a lot of road trips during our marriage, but not on the east coast, and it was cool to drive through so many big cities- Richmond, Virginia; Washington, DC; Baltimore, Maryland; etc. Anyways, so this is a picture of my hubby in Korea Town in NYC. You can't really see the signs very well, but it's all in Korean. We had Korean BBQ on this street- it was really good!
We walked the Brooklyn Bridge- it was freezing, but the views of the Statue of Liberty and downtown Manhattan were worth it!
This is a doner kabob- any of you out there who have been to Europe should be salivating right now. I've been told these are one of the best foods in Europe. It was actually pretty good, but a little greasier than the European version (according to my hubby).
Here is the gigantic meat slab they use to slice meat off for your doner kabob. This was in Greenwich Village. We had Pinkberry frozen yogurt here, too (AMAZING!! I'm a big fan).
I like this picture of us in front if the Bethesda Fountain. It was pretty tiring to walk around NYC, but it was fun to get out and see the city. NYC is such a unique place.
We went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art- this place is HUGE! But it's really cool- there's all kinds of art to look at- they even have a real Egyptian Temple (seen in this picture).
I love walking around Central Park and seeing all of the high rise buildings in the background.
We went to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade- we unfortunately were not as prepared as others- some parade watchers brought ladders for their kids to stand on so they could see above the crowds (those New Yorkers are smart). But we could still see the giant balloons, which were really cool. We saw Spiderman...
Even Kung Fu Panda came for the party...
Here's our sister-in-law and their cute baby girl. I love her hat!
Here we are walking to the parade- I guess a bunch of NYC police on horseback were making their way to the parade, too.
So we decided to take a bunch of pictures in downtown Charleston. HERE'S THE INTERACTIVE PART OF THIS POST- please give me your vote for your favorite picture out of this bunch! I'll most likely do an e-Christmas card this year, and I need a picture to send around to everyone. #1- I love the cobblestone street, the vines, and the palm trees... but not the Exit sign you can faintly see right above our heads. =)
#2- Yes, flowers bloom in Charleston in November. It's so nice. Such a cute, little house.
#3- I like going for walks around downtown Charleston and just looking at all of the different buildings and houses. Every one is different. I love this house- so cute.
#4- This is a famous pineapple fountain at the Waterfront Park, right next to Charleston Harbor.
#6- This is a good close-up on some cool steps at the Medical University of South Carolina.
#7- This is another shot I thought was really cool- I walked by it a lot while on my way to work, and I also thought this would be a good place for a picture. I like the color of the stone, and I like the lantern. I think it looks "very Charleston."
And that's the end of the voting pictures. We got some free tickets to go check out Magnolia Plantation and Gardens- here we are walking on the boardwalk through the swamp forest.
This is on one of the many paths at Magnolia. We got to do the house tour and the train tour. It's a beautiful place. There were many ponds.... and yes, many alligators as well.
Well, I hope you enjoyed catching up with us- sorry for the lack of posts!
