MUSC had a good deal on a kayak tour on Shem Creek, so we took advantage of it! Shem Creek is a fun part of town with restaurants, and shrimping and fishing boats.
View of Shem Creek from our kayaks
This is where we started our kayak tour.
Part of the tour included kayaking by a bird refuge...
Hanging out on the river...
We also kayaked to this sandbar where we actually got out of our kayaks and walked around- right in Charleston Harbor!
Of course, my husband, being a 5-year-old at heart, found a hermit crab and played with it...
Such a creepy, weird looking crustacean.
We also kayaked through marshes.
Here's a shrimping boat coming back to port with tons of birds flying around, trying to get some free fish.

Looks like so much fun! I am sure Brett, my 6 year old would be just as excited about the hermit crab. Miss you guys!
