This last week, while my husband was busy with school, I went blueberry picking at a local farm with a super nice family from my new ward...I was so excited to do this!
Just in case you ever wondered what blueberry plants looked like, here you go- I call them bush trees. More bush-y in nature than tree, but tall enough to be called a bush tree. I'm very technical with my plant terms. =)
Here I am with my bucket, standing in front of the blueberry fields. I wore blue shorts in honor of the occasion.
Here is a blueberry plant up close, so you can see how the blueberries grow together in little clusters. You just run your hands along a branch, and the ripe berries fall off into your bucket.
Here are some of the cute family members I went with.
For those of you who remember the HUGE mother of all silver bowls that my husband bought me a while back- this bowl was FULL of blueberries. I picked approximately 32 cups (3 freezer bags worth) of blueberries for a grand total of $16. Just remember that the next time you go buy a tiny packet of blueberries at your grocery store for $4-5. =)

Nicely done! That many blueberries just might last you the rest of the year!
Seriously -- I had to buy blueberries this last weekend and I was annoyed at how expensive they are! All I could do was think of you and that huge bowl full of them.
