Tick Tock Collection

I love small, local businesses. Since college, I have always had a strong interest in entreprenuership; I love learning about local businesses and organizations in my community, and I try to support those businesses in whatever capacity I am able. About a month ago, I attended a clock-making party at my awesome cousin's house. I had never heard of such a concept at the time, and I was filled with apprehension at the thought of me making a piece of art to hang in my home. I scrapbook, and I make decoration blocks (from a kit), but that is the extent of my crafty abilities. This was actually a cool experience! It took about 3 hours, but I made a BEAUTIFUL clock that is now proudly displayed on the living room wall in my home (yes, the picture at the beginning of this post is MY clock!).

I spoke with the two owners (sisters) who were directing the clock-making effort at this party; they started this company just a couple of years ago. Since these types of clocks are usually REALLY expensive, they wanted to figure out how to do it on their own. They figured if someone else could make them, so could they. One has a degree in Painting and Illustration; the other has a degree in Fine Arts. And both love to create. I was very impressed; they were very knowledgeable and experienced with their craft, and they were more than willing to help you with your clock at any point during the process.

The company is called Tick Tock Collection. This is SUCH a cute and unique gift idea. Hostesses get to make a FREE clock!
