Self-Guided Walking Tour of Downtown Salt Lake City

A week ago from last Sunday, my husband and I went on a one hour self-guided walking tour of downtown Salt Lake City. We started at the Temple Square gardens; then we walked over to the Brigham Young City Park, then up the hill to the Brigham Young Cemetary, then over through Memory Grove, up the hillside, and back up to our car at the Capitol Building. It was a fun walk, and we got to see all of the beautiful flowers and sights of the city! Here are some pictures we took along the way:

My favorite part about the Brigham Young City Park is the garden. They grow pumpkins (a baby one is pictured above!), jalapenos, herbs, sunflowers, tomatoes, squash, strawberries, green beans, etc.

Isn't this the coolest apartment building you've ever seen? We found it walking up towards Memory Grove. There are three apartment complexes (with each level), and then three garages underneath. The walkway to the front door is on the right side of the building.

These flowers were in the Brigham Young City Park-
they look like miniature trumpets.

The color of this flower is GORGEOUS- it's so bright, it looks
like it belongs on a tropical island, not downtown SLC!
I loved this flower- there are hundreds of them
throughout Temple Square.

These flowers are so interesting- the sun's light shines
right through the center.
Another beautiful, brightly colored flower on Temple Square.

Look at the sharply contrasted pink and orange
colors of this flower!

These flowers are my favorite-
their shapes are so unique.
