Charleston

Greetings from the low country! In the last week and a half living here, besides unpacking, organizing, and figuring out how to live in a different state (all while learning what REAL sweating is in this high humidity), we've tried to fit in some fun stuff. Here is a small list of some fun stuff we have done:

1. While walking around our apartment complex, we have seen a lot of small crabs (husband even caught one- of course) and even a small toad. There's all kinds of animals and bugs that like to live down here.
2. We tried blue cheese chocolate (changed my life).
3. We went to the beach and walked around in the 80 degree water.
4. We swam in our apartment complex's pool.
5. We saw a woman pushing a dog carriage- you know, like a baby carriage, but for dogs. Didn't realize chihuahuas needed that sort of thing, but ya see, Charleston is REALLY dog friendly.
6. We met and had dinner with some really nice neighbors and ward members.
7. We walked A LOT exploring downtown Charleston.

This is what it's all about. After many years of marriage with no washer/dryer, this is the most AMAZING thing to ever happen to us. It has been life altering. I love, love, LOVE having a washer and dryer!!!

Look familiar? Go watch The Notebook. This is the movie theater on King Street from that movie. (Notice the palm trees in the background on the right- I really love palm trees)!

We have really enjoyed walking around Charleston (10-15 minute drive from our place) and just looking at all of the houses- they are historic and beautiful.

Cobblestone street downtown. These are NOT fun to drive on! Very bumpy.

Folly Beach- beautiful!

Just under the fishing pier.

Welcome to the living room / dining room / kitchen of our apartment.

This is the kitchen. It's a little bit bigger, with more counter space- and I like how it's open with the rest of the living room / dining room.

View from the front door looking in to the living room / dining room / kitchen.
The bedroom: the walk-in closet is to the right (so nice), as is the bathroom. We found out that these windows here face east, so when the sun comes up- there is no sleeping in!

Two random thoughts:
1) I also LOVE LOVE LOVE your washer and dryer. Although we'll miss seeing you guys so often.
2) Invest in some good drapes and the days of sleeping in will return!

I was going to say the same things as Lynette. I am SO jealous you have a washer and dryer. Once for 6 months we had one and it was amazing!

Also, You need some black out curtains. We invested when we moved to Pittsburgh and I don't think I can live without them now.
